Steve comes to Curative with over a decade of hospital C-Suite experience and another decade working as a healthcare consultant. Much of that consulting time was spent assisting hospitals to work with recruitment firms in identifying physician candidates and crafting offers. "I can identify with the hospital client because I was that client. I know what is needed, the potential pitfalls, and how to structure deals. I bring that unique experience and perspective to each search."
Steve Hammarstrom has spent more than 25 years as a manager and strategist in the hospital and health care industry, with 17 of those years serving as an executive. Steve has excelled in positions across hospital and clinic operations, physician relations, physician and management recruitment, marketing and business development and healthcare analytics.
Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in Social and Behavioral Science from the University of Utah and his master’s in Healthcare Administration from Chapman University. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Medical Group Management Association.
Presently, Steve serves as the board chair of the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce and is the immediate past-chair of the Yuba-Sutter Healthcare Council. He is a former Economic Commissioner for the City of Yuba City, CA and Yuba County, CA.
Steve is active with his church and spends his leisure time with his family, fly tying and fly fishing, watching baseball and basketball, and cooking, especially on the smoker. Steve minored in music and studied jazz performance and until recently played the trombone with a R&B and Funk band. He and his wife Celeste, a 4th grade teacher, have five children and three grandchildren. They reside in Yuba City, CA.
