John R. Mehall, MD, MBA is Curative Executive Search’s, Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Mehall received his undergraduate degrees from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and graduated from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School. Following his surgical training at the University of Texas and the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Mehall founded what is now the largest cardiothoracic surgery practice in Colorado. Double Board-certified, Dr. Mehall is a nationally recognized minimally invasive heart valve surgeon with over 20 presentations at national meetings and has dozens of publications and presentations in a variety of journals and venues. Dr. Mehall has held administrative health system roles at the local, regional and national level and Co-Chaired the National Cardiovascular Service Line of the largest non-profit health system in the country. Beyond clinical medicine, he has started multiple healthcare businesses in several areas and has an MBA from the University of Texas. Dr. Mehall founded and ran a national cardiovascular staffing business for five years before joining the Curative/Doximity team as Chief Medical Officer. At Curative, Dr. Mehall focuses on understanding and better meeting the needs of clients and physicians.
Over his career, Dr. Mehall has built and managed strong teams that have delivered growth and consistent results both clinically and financially. His clinical leadership has focused on new program development and outreach, quality improvement, clinical and cost standardization, and strategic relationships. This approach has created effective, loyal teams and tight referring relationships with providers. Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Mehall has also started seven healthcare businesses with rapid growth across each business and multiple successful exits. Dr. Mehall is an accomplished entrepreneur, a respected national healthcare executive, a Board member and advisor to medical device companies, investment banks, private equity and venture capitalists.
Dr. Mehall enjoys spending time with his family and in the outdoors. He is actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Foundation, Catholic Charities, the Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center, and other local community organizations.
